AI-Powered Edge IDS/IPS
Deliver a resource-efficient, adversarially-hardened AI IDS/IPS that detects and blocks threats inline at the network edge.
IoT and edge networks generate high-volume, heterogeneous traffic that signature-based IDS/IPS cannot fully cover, missing novel and low-and-slow attacks against constrained devices. Backhauling all traffic to the cloud for analysis is costly, high-latency, and privacy-invasive, so detection must happen at the edge. Constrained hardware, however, cannot run heavyweight models, and adversaries increasingly target the ML model itself with evasion and poisoning.
**What you'll build**
Build a lightweight, ML-based intrusion detection and prevention system that runs on edge hardware (Raspberry Pi/Jetson/MCU-class gateway), performing real-time flow/feature extraction and inference to detect anomalies and known attack classes, then triggering inline prevention (drop/rate-limit/quarantine). Use quantized/distilled models optimized for edge and harden the pipeline against adversarial ML per MITRE ATLAS. Feed alerts to a central SIEM while keeping raw data local for privacy.
