Interactive Honeypot Cluster (Deception Grid)
Build an orchestrated, interactive honeypot cluster that captures and analyzes adversary behavior to produce high-fidelity detections and threat intelligence.
Traditional detection waits for attackers to trip signatures on production assets, often too late and buried in noise. Defenders lack high-signal, low-false-positive early-warning telemetry and struggle to study adversary behavior safely. Single honeypots are easily fingerprinted and provide limited intelligence.
**What you'll build**
Deploy a clustered deception grid of interactive honeypots emulating diverse services (SSH, web, SMB, ICS, databases) behind a central orchestration and data-collection layer. Capture full attacker interaction — commands, payloads, malware — enrich with threat intel, map behavior to MITRE ATT&CK, and generate high-fidelity alerts and IOCs, all isolated from production.
**Objective** — Build an orchestrated, interactive honeypot cluster that captures and analyzes adversary behavior to produce high-fidelity detections and threat intelligence.
**Expected outcome** — A deployed multi-service deception grid with centralized capture, ATT&CK-mapped attacker analytics, and an IOC/alert feed.
**Difficulty** — Advanced — requires multi-service emulation, safe isolation, centralized data engineering, and adversary-behavior analysis.
